San Vicente volcano on Chichontepec
It is located in the departments of San Vicente and La Paz to 7.7 km southwest of the town of San Vicente. Chichontepec Nahuatl language means "Hill of the tits".
It is a perfect example of a double-peaked volcano. One has a flat summit 2105 m.s.n.m. and the other has a conical shape with a height of 2181 m.s.n.m. between the two peaks is a ravine which was the crater. It is completely covered with vegetation and has no known historic eruptions. However, not be regarded as extinct ,having hot thermal springs and fumaroles sulphurous water at its base, known as "infiernillos, in your area coffee culltiva ,flowers and vegetables.
To climb this volcano is a dirt road that part of town located Zacatecoluca 68 kilometers from San Salvador Litoral road leading from San Salvador to the east of the country.

From its height have stunning views of the City of Zacatecoluca and San Vicente,Jiboa Valle del Estero and Jaltepeque and part of the Bay of Jaquilisco.
