Ecological Park El Manzano
This park offers visitors 150 acres of land taken over pine, cypresses, oaks, variety of birds, floral species, rivers, water sources, and its height,1,400 meters above sea level, provides a climate conducive to breathe fresh air and interact with the nature.
Part of the experience, are the paths that you can perform in forest and coffee plantation, with accompanying park guides, during which you can see different species of birds and flora.
Inside the park there is a museum which houses a rich history, as it was a bastion of resistance during the conflict in the eighties. The documents are, photographs, pumps caps, helicopter parts and equipment used during the conflict; plus, visitors can learn about the armadillo, places in times of armed conflict, were used as a refuge by the guerrillas.
The ecological park is located in El Manzano km. 8 ½ north of Dulce Nombre de Maria, street in the San Fernando, Chalatenango department and to visit you can call 7914-6596 o al 7890-9921.
