Laguna Botanical Garden
Within the urban area of the capital, La Laguna Botanical Garden is a natural lung and is an excellent choice if you want to disconnect from the routine of the city to enjoy nature with family. The particularity of this heavenly place is that is at the bottom of a volcanic crater extinct.
La Laguna Botanical Garden is located in the municipality of Antiguo Cuscatlan, department of La Libertad, just minutes from the city and less than five minutes from Central Park in this county.
This park is home to more than 3, 500 native plant species from around the world, conserved 42.9 acres of forest in constant strict supervision and research.
All visitors can begin their tour with forest area, where water sources are crossed and surrounded by stunning vegetation.
There are three distinctive pools adorned with colorful lilies and which houses fish like tilapia and fish lizard or Machorra (endangered) that harmonize with the fauna. As you tour the trails will appreciate the sound and beauty of exotic birds such as chiltotas, torogoces, hummingbirds and parrots as well as reptiles like lizards and iguanas, and small mammals such as squirrels and cotuzas.
For lovers of the research, La Laguna Botanical Garden has a library and herbarium where can query. You can purchase books by the Association La Laguna Botanical Garden, ornamental fish and affordable promotional items to contribute to the entity. Note that all visitors can buy plants and garden accessories in the nursery of the Association located next to the Botanical Garden.

The Botanical Garden The Laguna has a cafe where you can have lunch at affordable prices (from $0.90 USD a $2.00 USD). There are a variety of natural sodas and beverages such as sodas to accompany snacks. In the afternoons on Saturdays and Sundays, you can taste typical dishes like chilate, milk or bean patties, meat pies, among other varieties.

Bus routes 44, 44 (minibus) y 42-A. The stop is within the zone of La Laguna Industrial Plan. By car from the central park of Antiguo Cuscatlan may ask you to locate, is just a couple of minutes. Ticket cost from $0.25 USD.
