Located in the heart of San Salvador, Calvary is a great temple and a good example of ancient architectural remains of the city.

The second was built with wood, but was consumed by fire 24 January 1908. Some images were rescued, including those of Deeds, the bad thief.
Then put together a provisional chapel, but also took the first steps to building a concrete Gothic temple, directed by engineer Augusto Baratta, who was inspired by Italian and Spanish architecture.
This is the same temple that is standing out among multiple buildings that form the heart of San Salvador.
From 1925, This magnificent temple contains a colorful stained glass dome from Turin, Italy. The floor, ordeal and the central altar were made with Carrara marble. The latter styled as a replica of the Last Supper in the style of Leonardo Da Vinci.

In the halls you can view the classic urn Entombment, which was developed by the Salvadoran Asisclo Acosta, also, Admire dramatic nineteenth-century religious images.
With 64 meters long 52 wide, El Calvario is a gem capital, ground to history, but for the beauty and splendor of its interior.
