As a legacy of the oldest families of Joy, Hostal & Among Stones Café offers visitors originating from different regions, personalized attention and warm, turning his very comforting and memorable stay.

Family history relates that the homeowner was Martin Howard Lanzmann, of German origin. He felt a special fondness for stones, reason that led to the idea of exchanging fruits and firewood from his farm for stones that gave the locals in different areas. Gradually accumulated the amount needed to raise the building that today is the modest hostel.

Above, the house we used to vacation, but considering its strategic position facing the central park and visit the countless tourists who frequent the area, especially from Europe, was born the idea of making it a welcoming place for the traveler who wants to stay and relax in a homely and a comfort level higher than the local supply.

In Hostel & Coffee will be served between stones in a personalized way. Enjoy an excellent climate, a hospitable environment, privacy and security ideal for sharing with family friends.

Where to stay

The hostel is part of the Network of Central Rural Inns. It has four comfortable rooms: two double, one triple and one quadruple cabin. The fee is $16.00 USD per person (the 24 hours) TV with cable, hot water, unlimited wireless internet. We can say that handled prior reservation system with payment 50%.

Get Directions

Towards Joy:

If you drive by car from San Salvador should take the Coastal Highway (CA-2) towards the airport of Comalapa. Should be guided by the signs that indicate the diversions to Usulutan. Then you pass the Golden Bridge, should seek Usulutan By-Pass which will lead the people of Santiago de Maria and then to Joy.

Route buses:

From San Salvador to Usulutan: Route 302. Ticket cost $1.50 USD. Then you must take Route 348 with path to Joy. Cost of passage $0.35 USD. You can address it in the town of Santiago de María or Berlin.

In the village:

The Hostal Entre Piedras is located in front of Central Park. You can park your car in the parking lot safely allocated and guaranteed.

Tours available at the Hostal & Coffee Among Stones

Volcano tour Tecapa

- Duration: 5 hours

- Description: Routes between coffee and panoramic views of the volcano of San Vicente (El Chichontepec), San Miguel (Chaparrastique), Lempa River Reservoir, Jaquilisco Bay (Usulutan coast) and surrounding towns.

You ascend to the crater at an altitude of 1600 meters above sea level. Then go down to the Laguna de Alegría in a walk of 45 minutes approximately. This is an interactive tour that explains the plantations, types of fruits and resident animals.
