Yoyo

Ingredients
1 lb of soft flour
½ pound of margarine
2 tablespoons of baking powder
2 eggs
Vanilla
A pinch of salt
1 cup of water
½ pound of sugar
Red or yellow food coloring (to taste)
“Miel de panela” or pineapple jelly (to taste)
Procedure
Mix the flour with the baking powder and add a pinch of salt in the process. On a bowl mix the melted butter or margarine, eggs and the vanilla essence. Gradually add more flour and then water
until you have a pliable dough.
Knead the dough on a table with a rolling pin then shape into several golf size balls and then squeeze them so you have a flat surface on the bottom. Uniting two of those pieces you form the Yoyo. A layer of jelly goes in the middle and a coat of sugar or brown honey (Panela) is added including the desired coloring before baking.
Preheat oven to 100° F for 15 minutes.
Then bake at 300° F for 25 to 30 minutes.
