Torrejas
Ingredients:
• One Yolk Loaf Cake
• 4 eggs
• margarine or oil (depending on preference)
• Two tablespoons of bread flour
• Sugar
• Cinnamon to taste
• Milk for fully soaking the cake
• half a liter of water
Procedure:
Beat the egg whites. Then add the yolks and whip. Add the flour and continue beating until the three ingredients mix completely.
Heat a pan adding cooking oil or margarine.
Soak with milk the pieces of bread, immediately bather with the egg mix and place in the hot oil. Brown on both sides carefully.
In another saucepan boil water, cinnamon and sugar until the water gets pinkish color. Continue heating and stirring until it has syrup like consistency.
Tips:
• To achieve a delicious torreja, make sure the bread is of good quality and is fresh (soft).
• Use fresh eggs.
• Before you beat the egg, apply a tablespoon of water to make it fluffy.
