Balanza Villa Restaurant

| |

Since 1999 Villa Balanza Restaurant has established itself as a place that seeks to rescue Suchitoto’s identity through its food and the protection of the towns architectural legacy.

Its facade is characterized by having a large scale, which holds a 750-pound bomb that did not explode, and that was launched by the armed forces of El Salvador at the nearby town of Cinquera, department of Cabañas. At the other side of the scale there is a pile of tortillas that makes a symbolic representation of El Salvador’s people and maize ancestral culture.

The interior decor shows old tools and utensils from the last century. You may also see a small exhibition of weapons and objects, legacy of the civil war that took place on the 1980’s.

Where to eat:

At Villa Balanza you will taste unique traditional flavors and especial recipes created with homemade care and ingredients.

You will also find an ample variety of local sweets made with “dulce de panela” (raw sugar candy) that is applied to ayote, sweet potato (sweet potato), jocote and others. There is also fig, guava, pears, and nance candy, as well as classic Salvadoran chilate y Pepa atole from US$ 1.00 to US$ 1.50.
