Located near the international border known as “Las Chinamas” the restaurant La Choza, popularly known, as “La Pupusa Loca” is the place to find delicious pupusas, from small to large size, to satisfy all appetites.

Prices vary from US$ 0.60 to US$ 6.00. The dough of the pupusas can be with corn or rice.

Among the range of ingredients found in their pupusas are: cheese and beans, Loroco (local herb), squash, chipilin (local plant) and pork cracklings. There are also other combinations like: eggs, bacon, plantain, seafood and for vegetarians: carrots, broccoli, chipilin, sweet corn and more.

How to get there:

Address: Pan-American Highway, The Chinamas border near, Abroad.

La Pupuseria is on the left side of the road, less than a kilometer from the Laguna El Espino.

If driving from San Salvador, take the road to Santa Ana and then turn towards t Chalchuapa, follow directions to the border Las Chinamas.

By bus take Route 202 from San Salvador to Ahuachapán, cost from US$ 1.50 to US$ 2.50. You can also board route 210 from Santa Ana at U.S. $ 0.75. At the bus terminal take a “mototaxi” (tuk-tuk) from US$ 1.00 (per person)

Other routes that circulate in the area are: R-9-AH bound for Colonia El Carmen. Ticket cost from US$ 0.25.
