Salvadoran Quesadilla

First Version:

Ingredients:

• ½ pound unsalted cheese Salvador

• ½ bottle of sour cream

• ½ cup of sugar

• 2 eggs

• ½ pound of rice flour

• 2 teaspoons baking powder

Completely grind the cheese add the eggs, sugar, sour cream and the baking powder. Blend into a puree. Leave the dough for 1 hour.

Then mix with a wooden spoon and pour into greased baking mold, so the mixture is 1 / 4 of the height of the mold.

Bake at 325 degrees until golden brown (about 20 to 25 minutes).

Second Version:

Ingredients:

• 2 cups soft flour, wheat or rice

• 2 cups of sugar

• 1 cup of milk

• ½ pound striped yellow Salvadoran cheese

• ½ pound margarine

• 4 eggs

• 2 tablespoons of baking powder

• Sesame seeds for garnish

Procedure:

Using a blender, mix the cheese, sugar and milk and form a dough.

Add the soft flour, baking powder and continue stirring.

Whisk the eggs (apart) and once you have beaten them well add to the mix. Add the melted margarine to the mix as well.

Once you incorporate all the ingredients into a smooth mixture is now ready to poured into a grease pan.

Pour the mix (half of the pans height) and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Heat the oven to 350 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes.

How do you know when its ready?

Insert a toothpick in the center of dough to check the consistency, the quesadilla is ready when the dough dries.

This mixture yields for 12 quesadillas.
