El Zonte Beach
This is a well-known beach for surfing; it has often served as location spot for national and international surfing contests. Located at kilometer 53 on the Coastal Highway, department of the Libertad, this beach has a wide selection of hostels, restaurants, camping areas and even a surf school.
El Zonte has a bohemian atmosphere and its rocky beaches area perfect for relaxing.

El Zonte offers a wide range of restaurants, dining and bars to satisfy different budgets. Prices vary, from $ 0.50 to $ 2.50 (beverages) and from $ 5 to $ 10 (dishes).

This beach offers several options for short term or long term stay. Most visitors stay in hostels or camp just in front of the beach. Bus routes available:
Take bus number “192″ (US$ 0.75) that goes from Puerto de La Libertad to the beach La Perla, ask the driver to stop at “El Zonte.” You will not have to walk that far, access is immediate.
