If you feel like breakfast, Típicos Karlita has the best options from US$ 2.50. They do dinner and typical dishes such as “atoll de elote” and “shuco” in the afternoon.
Another of their specialties are Tenquique Pupusas (only in rainy season). Tenquique is a fungus with an exquisite and unique taste that can be savored with chicken and sauce with “papelillo” (a wild local leaf).

How to get there:
Address: 2nd South Avenue and Pasaje La Concordia, adjacent to Church of the Assumption, Abroad.
If driving from San Salvador, take the road to Santa Ana and then the exit towards Chalchuapa, follow the directions towards the Guatemalan border. When you arrive in Ahuachapán, ask the police or locals for the central park. The colorful murals on the walls of La Casa de Mamapán will guide you.
By bus, take Route 202 from San Salvador to Ahuachapan. Cost is US$ 1.50 to US$ 2.50. You can also take the route 210 from Santa Ana at U.S. $ 0.75. At the bus terminal take a Tuk Tuk (US$ 0.50) that will take directly to this site.
