Since 1996, the chef Margarita Vigil de Salgado prepares delicious gourmet style dishes including: cream of loroco (a local plant), Rooster in Chicha (spicy rooster stew), hen with Pinole, and “Maya” fish.
Some other exotic creations of the chef are tenquique cream, chicken breast stuffed with cheese and loroco. Among the options for desserts are pecan and strawberry pie, pavlova (from Australia), all of them have won awards from the Chamber of Commerce in 1996, 1997 and 1998 respectively. Prices vary, from US$ 4.50 to US$ 15.00.
You will also find a variety of sandwiches, soups, seafood, typical of the region, various beverages and delicious “high altitude” coffee.
If you visit the on Sundays you will see live marimba music, a delight for those who enjoy traditional music from the region.
