COLUMBUS PARK

Located in front of the ruins of the School of Arts “José Mariano Mendez” in Santa Ana, this park is a meeting and shopping place for locals since it is in the vicinity of Columbus Market.

Here you will find a monument dedicated to former President José Napoleon Duarte, who ruled the country from 1984 to 1989 and who also founded the Christian Democratic Party.

If you make a tour to the impressive School of Arts and Crafts, you may park your vehicle in the vicinity of Columbus Park since it is continuous guarded by the National Civil Police.

How to get there:

The park is located on José Mariano Méndez west street, just across from the ruins of the Old House Arts and Crafts “José Mariano Mendez.” . Ask for Columbus market (Mercado Colón) and the locals will tell you how to get there.

Bus Route:

From San Salvador to Santa Ana take Route 201 (we suggest taking the “special” for just a few cents more) at West Terminal. Ticket cost from US$ 0.85 to US$ 1.35
