Located near the monument to El Salvador del Mundo (Savior of the World), this museum is a unique artistic place in San Salvador.

The museum is dedicated to promoting Salvadoran fine arts and cultural education by providing support to artists, especially young ones.

Founded in 1983 by artist Julia Diaz, with the idea of preserving special national art collections for future generations.

Since then, the museum has been divided into seven rooms displaying more than 85 artworks in categories such as: realism, surrealism, abstract art, portraits, lithographs and more.

The museum is a small oasis of knowledge about plastic arts in El Salvador. All visitors would admire this impressive artistic collection created by masters and their students over the years.

This museum is located in a beautiful house built in 1932 by architect Armando Sol. It is considered a jewel among neo-colonial architecture in San Salvador.

The museum has a library open to the public with a variety of reference books in English, Spanish and French. In addition, you can buy souvenirs such as postcards, handcrafts, prints, books and paintings at prices ranging US$0.50 to $ 100.00 USD.

Importantly, Julia Diaz Foundation works hard to promote arts in different parts of the country, especially focusing on children and young adults with artistic potential. It supports them with educational programs, scholarships, among many opportunities.
