Cuscachapa lagoon is a green and quiet resting place near the historic city of Chalchuapa.

Just 77 kilometers from San Salvador this lagoon is situated at the entrance of this beautiful town at the province of Santa Ana.

It measures 0.075 square kilometers and is looked after by local authorities, since it is considered to be a protected natural area of the city.

How to get there:

To get to Chalchuapa drive towards Ahuachapán, or the route towards Las Chinamas International Border. The road is well signposted.

Take as a reference point El Tazumal Archaeological Site, from there turn left at the diversion of the main street. Continue along this road and you will find the sign indicating access to Laguna Cuscachapa.

There are two entrances and you can park without any inconvenience near the shore of the lake at no cost.
