In Sunzal Point you can rest at the same facility used by the first surfers in El Salvador in the early seventies.

This is a historic place since it is known to be “the first surfing house” where local and foreign surfers pioneered mastering the waves at La Libertad.

The advantage of this hostel is that they have special packages for long stays. It is also just 250 meters from the beach.

How to get there:

El Sunzal is situated at kilometer 44 along the coastal road.

If traveling by car, we recommend you follow the signs that will tell you the different access to the beach. We suggest parking in nearby parking lots, since vehicles are not allowed on the beach. The cost of this service is US$ 1 to US$ 2.

Bus routes available:

Take “102-A” which travels from the port city of La Libertad to El Sunzal. The fare varies up to US$ 0.75.
