MS Europa Cruise arrives at Acajutla with 400 European Tourists
On Saturday April 16, the German cruise ship MS Europe visited Acajutla Port in El Salvador, with more than 400 passengers and 285 crew on board; 75% of them where Germany visitors, and the rest from countries such as New Zealand, United States, Austria, England, Norway, Sweden and Peru.
This cruise is considered to be among the worlds most luxurious, due to its “Five Star Plus” category. This is the third time this cruise visits El Salvador, since according to the company “El Salvador is on our tourist radar”.
The MS Europa, who is 199 meters in length, arrived at 7:00 am on Saturday and immediately dispatched 380 tourists who selected several routes like: Volcanoes and Cerro Verde, Santa Ana Historic Centre, Las Veraneras Club (golf practice) and some other private destinations.
The welcoming party included the performance of folk music group “Corazón de Niñas”, from Ilopango, and the dance group “Yaxa-Nutal” from Mejicanos.
Tourists who stayed at Acajutla Port had the opportunity to buy various handicrafts and articles produced by 10 small businesses that set up their own stalls at the dock. Among the products offered were indigo-dyed garments, handicrafts made of coconut, coffee, pupusas, sweets and more.
Tourists that visited the historic center of Santa Ana and tasted dishes and drinks at the reception organized by the Municipality on their behalf, later they visited the Theatre and the adjacent gothic cathedral.
