White Coconut Candy
Ingredients:
Coconut
Sugar
Cinnamon sticks
Water
Procedure:
First remove the outer shell of the coconut and leave the white part, known as the “coconut meat,” which will be hard. Cut into pieces and grind.
For this type of candy you must prepare a “sweet water” syrup that is made by putting water and sugar on a pot and aloud it to dissolve slowly.
In another bowl mix water and cinnamon and simmer, until the water acquires a taste of cinnamon. Take away from the stove, remove the cinnamon sticks and add the “sweet water”.
Everything is put back into the bowl and boil. Add the ground coconut. Simmer until it thickens. Once it forms into a thick paste, place over a wooden board and aloud to cool. Then cut into pieces.
