Located in the municipality of San Ignacio, Chalatenango, Cerro El Pital is known for being the highest point in El Salvador with a height of 2730 m.s.n.m.

What to do

Get Directions

From San Salvador conduct yourself in the North Trunk Road (4N) Resume and towards Aguilares.

In Chalatenango, then have to move to La Palma and San Ignacio River diversion route at Chiquito. From San Ignacio resort 8.5 miles or so to get to this diversion. When climbing the diversion of Rio Chiquito find signs that point the way to Cerro El Pital which is at a distance of 5.5 kilometers upwards.
